Overall, the President has announced 53 nominees to serve as US Attorneys and 11 candidates to serve as US Marshals.

US Attorneys and US Marshals are the government authorities “who will be indispensable to upholding the rule of law as top federal law enforcement officials.” The White House has chosen five new nominees to serve as US Attorneys and two new candidates to serve as US Marshals.

Among US Attorney Nominees, there are:

  • Adair Ford Boroughs, the candidate for the District of South Carolina;
  • E. Martin Estrada, the candidate for the Central District of California;
  • Gregory J. Haanstad, the candidate for the Eastern District of Wisconsin;
  • Sopen B. Shah, the candidate for the Western District of Wisconsin; and
  • Natalie K. Wight, the candidate for the District of Oregon.

The US Marshal Nominees are:

  • Chrissie Latimore, the candidate for the District of South Carolina; and
  • Kirk Taylor, the candidate for the District of Colorado.

President Biden has suggested a budget that would increase the law enforcement to enable the authorities to deal with the rising crime rate this year. Gun crime will also be controlled across the US by “putting more cops on the beat, supporting community prevention programs, and cracking down on illegal gun trafficking.” The newly elected US Attorneys will be responsible for taking legal actions to implement increased law enforcement in the whole country.
