As the COVID vaccines roll out, globally, some people are ready to take them, and others are still understandably hesitant. It’s still uncertain how the world will evolve as each stage of vaccines surpasses. But as we come to almost a year in a pandemic, it’s necessary to propel our ability to return to normal.
How will we get back to normalcy and slowly intermingle people with the vaccine and without? This has become one of the greatest challenges among leaders, all over the world.
Vaccines can be controversial for some people and mainly when people discuss making vaccinations mandatory. People want to have the freedom to decide, while others feel it impedes individual rights and liberties, but you might lose your privilege to travel because of health risks.
Even before COVID, whenever you travel to other parts of the world, the country may have certain required vaccines you must have, with proof, before entering the country. Governments have the right to mandate vaccine requirements to help protect their people.
How will your life be impacted if you choose not to get the vaccine?
Leaders all over the world are searching for solutions to help get their countries running normally again. The challenge is tracking who’s had it and now, who is vaccinated.
The main solution is to track who’s been vaccinated and who hasn’t by using a vaccination or immunity passport. These passports serve as an official document that certifies an individual has received the vaccination for COVID and would allow access into countries or cities. Using immunity passports is the fastest way for people to travel easier and sooner.
Certificate of Immunity
Another reason for implementing immunity passports can also serve as proof that they have already recovered from COVID-19. In an attempt to manage the pandemic without economic catastrophe, some counties utilized immunity passports. People could get travel easier within the country if they had proof of a negative COVID test after contracting the virus. It was believed that if you had COVID-19, you would acquire antibodies and decrease the chances of contracting again.
However, WHO (World Health Organization) stated in spring 2020 that immunity passports from recovered COVID patients are not medically or scientifically proven to lessen their chances of contracting or spreading the virus in the future.
Less dramatic rules can take effect with immunity passports. Those who have had the virus could have lesser restrictions on masks and gatherings. Using these medical and vaccine passports would allow us to track the virus and which is protected. We can use all the health data and create a better global plan for the pandemic since it’s been a challenge worldwide.
Work Without Immunity Passport
It’s not just about traveling to other cities and counties. People have been worried that organizations and employers will mandate immunity passports. Not only is that seen as a health information privacy violation but people do not want to be required for their job.
Getting vaccines to travel isn’t new; getting ones for your job is new. There’s no question immunity passports will most likely be the solution. How it’s implemented and organized is still uncertain. What is certain is our world will look different for a long time.Leave a comment
