Code Summary

This code allows individuals to choose where debt repayments are applied. For example, if you owe money for a microwave and a fridge to the same shop, you have a right to make a payment to the deb provider specific to one of the debts. This debt provider must count your payment on the specified debt and has no right to count returns wherever they want, as is regulated by 15 U.S. Code Section 1692h.
